Further Discussion on Ghana By Public Demand

Implications of new found oil in Ghana
This Tuesday the 3rd of July we continue dicussing how Ghana has fared under the leadership of President Kufuor responding to public demand for more extensive debate on the discovery of oil in that country and its possible implications. How will Ghana’s economic fortunes change with last week’s discovery of oil? President Kufuor says Ghana will become the African Tiger and will invest heavily in social programmes from oil revenues in programmes such as schools, hospitals and other related infrastructure.

The Ghana government has set up commissions to visit other African countries with oil to study what successes and challenges they have faced in their bid to make oil revenues work for the ordinary people.
