This Week on African Perspective
This Tuesday 12th June we discuss the outcome of the G8 summit. We look at how successful the summit was in terms of advancing the African development agenda. Over several years, the G8 has claimed to be putting Africa on top of its agenda and yet there has been slow movement in providing comprehensive development assistance that could solve the acute challenges Africa faces.
To discuss the topic are federal New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton, federal Liberal Party Member of Parliament and Canadian International Development Agency critic Mark Eyking and Executive Director of Oxfam Canada, Robert Fox.
