Implications of new found oil in Ghana and fate of ROPAL

This Tuesday 26 June we discuss how Ghana has fared under the leadership of President Kufuor. What went wrong with the Representative Of the People (Amendment) Law (ROPAL)? Why do opposition parties oppose the law? How will Ghana’s economic fortunes change with last week’s discovery of oil? President Kufuor says Ghana will become the African Tiger and will invest heavily in social programmes from oil revenues in programmes such as schools, hospitals and other related infrastructure.
We also discuss female genital mutilation. Is it a good idea? And many more issues.
