This Tuesday 25 March we discuss the upcoming elections in Zimbabwe and to discuss with us the issue is the Zimbabwean Ambassador to Canada Florence Z. Chideya. Among the issues to be discussed is whether Zimbabwe has the capacity to hold the four elections at once namely the presidential, parliamentary, senatorial and councilors; why did the government of Zimbabwe not invite Western countries; and does she think that these elections would be seen as free and fair?
Listen live on 105.5 FM in Toronto or online on http://www.chry.fm/ worldwide as we discuss this issue. To contribute, call our studio number on +1 416 736 5656 or write to africanperspective@chry.fm

Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-). I will add in my blogroll =). If possible gives a last there on my blog, it is about the Wireless, I hope you enjoy. The address is http://wireless-brasil.blogspot.com. A hug.
Dave! Hats off to you my freind,I am so amazed by your unwaning patience and tolerance in engaging this unreasonable fella calling himself ANONYMOUS.
I cannot stand his appalling reasoning,He is just horrible like his uncle Nathan Shamuyarira.
Thanks nhlanhla, I just don't understand how these people can be so heartless. People are not only suffering back home but they are dying of starvation/malnutrition in some cases and these guys are more than prepared to continue with the status quo. If Kuthula were back in Zimbabwe today he would be crying himself to sleep daily wondering how he was going to feed his child, wondering what hopes and dreams his child would be able to achieve in Zimbabwe. But instead he sits comfortably in Canada with the opinion that change in Zimbabwe is necessary. He will deny this fact saying he just doesn't want Morgan. The reality is that Morgan is the only other candidate with a chance other than Mugabe. It's no wonder that he did not return to Zimbabwe for the birth of his child, he is doing everything he can to not have to go back there.
Nhlanhla is talking to you about ANONYMOUS and you couldn't resist pulling me to join in the discussion. Although this is a very bad time for me as I am marking and writing my final term work, I'll give you the satisfaction to respond.
You are obsessed about my being in Canada. You want me to go to Zimbabwe and then argue exactly the same way as I do. Well, I could, but what if I argue from Glen Lorne or Borrowdale Brook? Would you not argue further that I should be in Makokoba or Mbare. But still, I could still be there and live a different life from the people all around me. My baby could have been born at West End, St. Anne's or Mater Dei, etc.
But that is not the issue. The issue is ideological. What are the ideas that should inform our development. And it is my contention that these ideas I espouse day and night are good given the support as opposed to being sabotaged by UK and US and YOU, DAVE!!!!!
I could argue from anywhere in the world, Canada, Zimbabwe, Makokoba or anywhere but because of the way I am informed of the world, I will stick to my views. I wonder why you think I would discuss these issues differently if I were in Zimbabwe. With what I know now Dave, no ways!! Maybe if it was in the colonial days when we were not allowed to read and travel. Travel, as opposed to what you want to make it, is an eye opener. We can now see the realities of the world and meet different personalities. When we interaact with these ideas and personalities who shape our understanding of the world, without meeting with these people (interacting with faceless writers and abstract environments) we believe uncritically. Now we know Dave. You cannot cheat us anymore. We know!!!! And that freaks you!!! Its your fault. You promoted globalization. People move and make contacts internationally and globally. New knowledges that were hidden and suppressed from us have surfaced. Alternative views that are surpressed by the neoclassical economic logic and hegemonic political order are ascending. No amount of attacking us will scare us away. We will always show you, wherever we are - Canada or Zimbabwe - how your ideas are violent. You have to live with the consequences of globalization.
I would be more than happy if you wrote from Borrowdale Brooke or anywhere in Zimbabwe. The people in Borrowdale Brooke are suffering too. The fact remains that you are not writing from anywhere in the world, you are writing from Canada, a place where you can take advantage of the benefits of LIBERALISM. The fact is that you are not concerned with power cuts, you are not concerned with fuel shortages, you are not concerned with 160,000% inflation. To say that your view would not change were you to be living in Zimbabwe is quite frankly an insult to the people of Zimbabwe.
You say you are now informed about the world and yet you must be aware that there is no free press in Zimbabwe. My problem with you is that you take advantage of all the things not available to Zimbabweans currently and then you dare to say that the only person who can realistically bring about quick change should not lead Zimbabwe. If you cannot see you hypocracy then I suggest you get some glasses.
So yes go to Glen Lorne or Borrowdale Brooke, hell go and live with Mugabe himself, even the big boss himself has to live with power cuts and then your arguments might carry some weight.
Lastly, and I think this is a compliment for you but my wiew of you is infinitely higher than that of Mashie/Anonymous. Simply put he is an idiot, I am glad you did not touch his argument about the non release of the presidential results. I know how much you are against Morgan but I still don't think you condone keeping the Zimbabwean people in the dark regarding the election results. To your credit I have not seen you support things like fraud or other underhanded activities to keep him away from the presidency. Correct me if I am wrong.
Dave, Don't try to compliment me in order to put a wedge between me and Mashie. You still perfect the Divide and Rule trick!
Do you realise that you are telling me where to go and live and where to exercise my rights? Who are you. Am I guaranteed that if I go to live in Mbare and still view the world as I do you will accept my thinking? What if you dont after I have gone to Mbare or Borrowdale Brook or any other place. I need clarity. If you say
"So yes go to Glen Lorne or Borrowdale Brooke, hell go and live with Mugabe himself, even the big boss himself has to live with power cuts and then your arguments might carry some weight".
So do you mean that if I do exactly that then you are going to believe me wholeheartedly? If not, then its irrelevant. My reasoning would not be carrying any weight to you regardless.
Besides, you can't have your cake and eat it too. You championed the contraction of time and space and have argued that the world is a global village. People can now live anywhere they choose and say whatever they want (of course within accepted limits), but then at the same time it seems its only those people who share your views. Its not mentioned in the theory of globalization. So you must be dictatorial and oppressive...just imagining things in your head and then maybe because you have the superiority complex you feel you can, like the Empire configure people into specific locations based on your interests. That is not the world you wish for. You have to be smarter than this Dave! And you know it!
Why should I not take advantage of globalization? Why should I not take advantage to challenge you in a war which the voiceless rural peasants have not been afforded? They a voice or someone who is going to voice their concerns...or even those in towns who do not have access to the internet. You are so used to manipulating, through domination, the internet because of your hegemon. Accept competing ideas without trying to banish us. Yes we are going to stay GLUED in Canada and enjoy those LIBERAL communications tools to challenge your destructive ideas that you want to dominate by default...because you would have turfed us from the debating platform!!!! Now your system is causing HUNGER! Is it the land reforms in those countries?? What are those people with the land and guaranteed property rights doing, when they starve people to divert crops to cars? Its a shame!
ha ha ha, listen to you, what a weasel, you will say or do anything it appears to not have to return to Zimbabwe. I guarantee that if you move back to Zimbabwe under Mugabe's rule I will have more respect for your arguments. Right now you are simply denying zimbabweans what you yourself are enjoying in Canada. You make me laugh, you and I both know you will never return to Zimbabwe until Mugabe is gone, just like all of the rest of us. Trust me, althout I have more respect for you than Mashie, my respect for you is still exceedingly low, you are both full of nonsense.
